DuoCam ("the app") is published by Zyntec ("we", "us"). DuoCam is a camera app that records with the front and back cameras at the same time. It is built offline-first: what you capture stays on your device. This policy explains what little data the app touches, why, and the choices you have. It applies to DuoCam on both iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).
1. Summary
We do not collect your photos or videos. We do not sell data. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across apps or websites. The only data that leaves your device is the minimum needed to attach purchases to an anonymous account, plus optional analytics that stay OFF unless you turn them on.
2. What stays on your device
Your photos and videos, the separate front/back source files, thumbnails, edit drafts, the gallery index, your settings (theme, language, camera options) and the free-trial counter are stored only on your device. DuoCam never uploads your media automatically. Media leaves your device only when you choose to share or export it, and you pick the destination.
3. Image processing
All image processing, including background removal, runs on your device (Apple Vision on iOS, ML Kit on Android). Camera frames are not sent to any server and are not used to train any model.
4. Account
DuoCam works without registration. To keep purchases attached to you, an anonymous account is created through Firebase Authentication (Google LLC); it is identified by a random user id, not by your name, e-mail or phone number. We cannot identify you personally from this id.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat, Inc. manages entitlements on our behalf and receives your anonymous user id and the store receipt. Payment details (card numbers, billing address) are handled entirely by the store; neither DuoCam nor RevenueCat ever sees your card data.
6. Third-party service providers
DuoCam shares data only with these processors, only for the purposes stated: - Firebase Authentication (Google LLC): anonymous account id, for purchase continuity. - RevenueCat, Inc.: anonymous user id and store receipt, for entitlement management. - Apple App Store / Google Play: payment processing under their own terms and privacy policies. There are no advertising SDKs, no data brokers and no analytics SDKs that run without your consent.
7. Analytics and crash reports
Usage analytics are OFF by default. Nothing is collected unless you turn analytics on in Settings, and you can turn them off again at any time; collection stops immediately. Analytics, when enabled, cover anonymous feature usage (for example which layout was used) and never include your media, precise location or contact data.
8. Permissions
Camera: required to capture; this is the app's core function. Microphone: optional, used only to record sound with your videos; if you decline, videos are recorded silently. Photos: add-only. DuoCam can add the captures you choose to your photo library, and never reads or browses your library. No location, contacts or calendar permissions are requested.
9. Data retention and deletion
Media and settings live on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. The anonymous account and its entitlement record exist for as long as you use the app. You can delete your account and all app data from Settings → Account & data; this removes the anonymous account, the entitlement link held by RevenueCat, and all captures stored on the device. Copies you already saved to your system photo library are yours and are not affected. Uninstalling the app deletes all on-device data held by the app.
10. Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, KVKK and similar laws)
Because we hold no personal data that can identify you, most requests are satisfied on-device: access and portability (your media is already in your hands), erasure (Settings → Account & data), and objection to processing (analytics toggle, off by default). If you believe we hold personal data about you, contact us and we will verify, correct or delete it within 30 days. We do not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children
DuoCam is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
The little data that exists (anonymous id, entitlement record) is transmitted over TLS and stored by the providers listed above under their security programmes. On-device data is protected by your device's own sandbox and, where enabled, device encryption.
13. International transfers
Firebase and RevenueCat may process the anonymous identifiers on servers outside your country, under standard contractual clauses and their own compliance programmes.
14. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version is published in the app and at https://duocam.zyntec.app/privacy with a new "last updated" date. Material changes are announced in the app before they take effect.
